How long have you been shooting weddings?
Over 7 years full time. Plus a few years on the side before that while I worked in a fashion and portrait studio.
How many weddings have you shot?
I've lost count... but I'm deep into the hundreds at this point.
Do you travel, if so what are the additional costs involved?
Absolutely. In fact, I travel for most of the weddings and elopements I shoot. There are no additional travel costs for weddings or elopements within the USA (travel fees for international weddings are limited to flights only). You'll never be billed for meals or other miscellaneous travel expenses either. Accommodation is something I leave in your hands so you can control those costs as well as my proximity, and I'm not fussy at all about where I stay.
We are a bit overwhelmed with wedding planning... Can you help us?
For sure! I care so much about your final product that I'm absolutely willing to lend a hand with any relevant planning detail you need help with. After all, I do this pretty much every weekend, so you'll definitely get access to my insight, advice and any industry contacts should you need them.
We want to elope, but we have no idea how to go about it... Can you help us?
100% !!! My wife and I eloped (and we had a wedding later), so I feel more than qualified to help you navigate the myriad of possibilities. Ultimately it comes down to helping you create the type of experience you want and sharing knowledge on how to pull it off. Things like location scouting, travel arrangements, park fees and permits, hiking tips (if it's an adventure elopement), sourcing local vendors, logistics, and even the legal aspects like performing the ceremony are all topics we'll delve into during the planning phase.
We're anxious about being photographed... How do you avoid it being awkward?
I get it. Being photographed is a totally unnatural and nerve racking state. But believe me, it's not as intimidating as you might imagine. First of all, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help you relax into the process and up your confidence. Plus, we'll have plenty of conversations and opportunities to build a solid rapport before the camera even comes into it. Ultimately, I'm telling a story, so most of the time you won't even have to acknowledge the camera or my presence. When the time comes for mild directions, I'll keep you entirely focussed on one another and present in the moment. I promise, you'll hardly have to look at the camera at all.
Do we need to do an engagement shoot?
No, it's totally your call. But the experience does go a long way towards building our relationship and your comfortably with the photographic process. To be honest, it usually feels more like a casual hangout with friends rather than a stuffy "photoshoot". At the very least we'll get to have some fun experimenting and exploring somewhere beautiful together. Oh, and there's usually beer involved too!
We're having a huge wedding and we might need two photographers... can you make that happen?
Totally. During the planning phase we'll asses whether a second photographer is necessary. In my experience, a second photographer is rarely vital, but if we determine it would be beneficial, I'll arrange for one of my associates to tag along for a small additional fee.
What's the deal with slideshows? Why are they important?
Slideshows are my favorite way to present your wedding story back to you in an emotive and cinematic format. Imagine curling up on the couch with your new spouse and fur babies, cracking a bottle of something delicious, tissues at the ready, and hitting play on your smart TV. The slideshow will instantly transport you back to you wedding day and allow you to re-immerse yourself in the whole experience. Compare this to clicking through folders and jpegs on a tiny laptop, and the difference is not even close. I put a lot of effort into these presentations because I know how powerful the experience can be. When your turn comes, I'm sure you'll agree. View a sample HERE.
How many photos will we receive?
The short answer is plenty. It depends on how much time we spend together, but I always aim to deliver a thorough and complete story, without a ton of redundancy.
How do you deliver the final set of photos?
Everything is delivered online via a sleek modern viewing gallery. You can retrieve all your edited high-resolution digital files and/or wedding film via secure download to your computer. The site is equipped with easy sharing and print ordering tools. And I promise to keep it live as an additional back up for at least 2 years after your wedding.
Can we view a full client gallery before we book?
Yep! Here you go: AMY + NICK | WEDDING. Feel free to request more samples.
What if you're not available on out date? Can you still help us out in some way?
Yes! I have a fantastic associate photographer, Francesca who readily shoots weddings under my brand. Her style is almost identical to mine (as you can see HERE) and she knows the ins and outs of the process perfectly well! Actually she was a bride of mine a fews years ago, so she's been in your shoes too! The same package options are available to book Francesca, and the associate rate is discounted by 10%. I will still be heavily involved in the planning, editing and delivery of your wedding, so you can rest assured that we have your back as a team!
How long does it take to get our photos after the wedding? Can you describe the editing process?
The post production process is a painstaking labor of love that I tackle over the weeks following your wedding. I try to get you a sneak peek of 5-10 images within a few days... then, I'll spend the next few weeks carving out the story from the thousands of frames captured at your wedding. I personally choose the keepers and edit them with a stylish yet timeless look and feel. A lot of care goes in to each photo and it's a process that can't really be rushed. But typical turnaround time is between 4 and 8 weeks from the wedding date. With an average of 6 weeks in most cases. VIDEO takes a slightly longer editing process.
Do you offer videography too?
Oh Yeah! Check out some samples and info HERE.
Do you offer Albums and/or Prints?
Yes! Your online gallery is linked to a fantastic print lab, so ordering prints and wall art through the site is super easy for you and your guests. For albums, there are a lot of options to choose from and we usually explore them together after the wedding once the memories have settled and your favorite photos begin to emerge. When the time comes to immortalize your story in print, we'll tackle the design process together. There's no time limit and it's common for people to order albums around 3-6 months after the wedding. There's some information on albums HERE.
What's your pricing and how do we book?
The first step is to take a look at the PRICING PAGE. Then, jump over the to CONTACT FORM to share some details about your wedding. I'll reply asap to schedule a chat so we can all share in the excitement together (phone, video call, or in person if possible). Most of the time we just end up laughing and trading stories about weddings and other essential topics... But at some point we will discuss your specific plans and needs and see how they align with the customize-able package options available. If sparks fly, I'll send through the online agreement and 25% retainer invoice required to secure your date. Then, we'll circle your date on the calendar and start counting down the days together!
