SARAH + DAVID // Key West Wedding

Regardless of the reason for your visit to Key West FL, you're really only there for one thing... To have a bloody fantastic time! And that's exactly what Sarah and David's wedding weekend was. But rewind about a year and things weren't looking so flash for their Key West wedding plans. A hurricane ripped through the Keys and all but leveled a number of potential wedding sites. Some were more worse for wear than others, but the reality struck regardless that this sliver of paradise at the southern most point of the United States is prone to some rather destructive weather patterns... Not ideal when you're trying to plan your dream wedding in the place that means so much to you.

So Sarah and David pumped the breaks and decided to re-assess their plans. They may have put the celebration on hold for a whole year, but their relationship sure wasn't going to suffer because of it. SO they gallantly soldiered on with an intimate legal ceremony to make their marriage official despite the real party being on hold. I can't tell you how much I admire this approach. As it highlights the fact that there really are no rules for the perfect wedding formula, and what's most important is that you solidify your relationship in whatever manner you see fit. The celebration can always come later... and in this case, it was all the more special given the long wait for the Keys to recover so they could eventually host the most kick ass backyard party at the Historic Old Town Manor in the heart of Key West.

Plans and unforeseen mishaps aside... this ended u being the most Key West-y wedding ever, in that Sarah and David were conscious to keep the spirit and atmosphere of the town and the heart of their wedding. They even arranged for all their guests to tour the town on the beloved conch train, which stopped at points of interest and gave everybody a unique and memorable experience to help them cherish this wedding even more.

On a personal note, I have to say that these guys have a love that was truly special to witness up close. The ADORE each other in a way that everyone can see, yes, but more so in a way that you almost feel reverberating around them. Like their chemistry has some mystical power to make you swoon in their presence. Yes I know how mushy this all sounds, but scroll down to the sunset portraits and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks, Sarah and David for allowing me to be a part of this experience!
